Violent Jasper – Live in Hamburg 09 Dec 2023
The Progspace attended the traditional Christmas Show organized almost every year 'at home' at Knust in downtown Hamburg, Germany, by the German progressive/alt-rock kings, Sylvan. We've had the pleasure of experiencing these intimate shows before, typically meant for family and friends. This year, however, marked the first time we've seen an opening band. Keeping it within the Sylvan family, Violent Jasper—a side project featuring Sylvan members Volker Soehl and Johnny Beck—took the stage. They were joined by the incredible Caro von Brünken, who celebrated her birthday on stage, and Sylvan's lead singer Marco Glühmann as a guest vocalist. Violent Jasper performed songs from their debut album 'Control' to enthusiastic applause, with the crowd even joining in for a birthday chorus for Caro.
