Omnerod live at ProgPower Europe 2023

Omnerod was one of the bands we presented, and many of us discovered, during the 3rd edition of The Progspace Online Festival during the pandemic. We were blown away by the technicality in their music, as well as the massive sound and stage production the four Belgians produced. We knew that having them finally at ProgPower Europe was going to be a massive treat! Being the opening band on Sunday is a difficult task, as many sleepy festival-goers usually skip the band or listen a bit and then go out to have a beer or a bite. Not with Omnerod. In more than 10 years of visiting Baarlo almost religiously, this is the first time I've seen a Sunday opening band with crowds as astonished, awake, headbanging, and present as if it were a headliner! With the venue full, I'm happy to say these guys smashed it and produced such intricate music, ever-evolving and massively presented in both sound and visuals. Daring for us as photographers, but enchanting. Have a deep listen to their latest album "The Amensal Rise" (for me the best of 2023) and please, go see them live when they play near you (they'll be touring with Ihlo in the UK later this year).
