The Amazing – live at Ino-Rock 2024

The Amazing – live at Ino-Rock 2024

The Amazing delivered an immersive performance, drawing heavily from their 2015 album Picture You. Opening with the title track, the band immediately captivated the audience with the dreamy, melancholic vocals of Christoffer Gunrup, complemented by Reine Fiske and Fredrik Swahn’s intricate guitar work. The set continued with standouts like “Safe Island” and “Circles,” each song building layers of emotion and atmosphere. A highlight of the evening was “Broken,” where the band’s warm, analog sound and Cure-like guitar lines created a hypnotic, almost trance-like experience for the audience.

The band ventured into quieter territory with “Asleep” from In Transit, which flowed seamlessly into a preview of their upcoming album Piggies (2024) with the darker, moodier “Figurehead.” The night concluded with the powerful “Fryshusfunk,” featuring a standout solo by Fiske. Despite some sound mixing issues, The Amazing reaffirmed their status as a unique force in alternative rock, blending ethereal, psychedelic, and jazzy influences with emotional depth and musical craftsmanship.
