International Avantgarde Extreme Metal innovators Fleshvessel surprise with new single, Cessation Fixation
International Avantgarde Extreme Metal innovators Fleshvessel are gearing up for their second album “Obstinacy: Sisyphean Dreams Unfolded”, expected to be released later this year, with the surprise drop of ‘Cessation Fixation‘, hard on the heels of the announcement of the band’s first ever live show to take place at Montreal, Canada’s first Progstorm Festival.
‘Cessation Fixation’ is the first single, and second track from the upcoming Fleshvessel record “Obstinacy: Sisyphean Dreams Unfolded”. It is essentially about an obsession with one’s own death and a wanting to be on the other side. Struggling with suicidal ideation is something that myself and other band mates have struggled with in the past and I think that Troll really captures those feelings in an engaging way with her lyrics and vocal performance for this track. Not overly gruesome, but descriptive enough to capture that longing to make an exit. This track ties to the overall theme of the record by highlighting the difficulty of changing these thoughts patterns. Once you’re in that place you can feel stuck, spiraling. But we have to use our stubbornness to persevere and claw our way out, not to stay stagnant and wallow.
