Connor Kaminski & KEYAN – Kinetic
These three tracks are a great introduction to this talented pair but after a few plays it’s not enough. I find myself wanting more, and hopefully it won’t be too long before more arrives.

Edensong – Our Road to Dust
This band has been around for over 20 years and there have been multiple band members come and go. So, with just 3 albums and 1 EP during that time, I’m not expecting anything else from them anytime soon. This latest album will have to do for now, and that’s just fine by me.

Empyrean Sanctum – Detachment from Reality
I have no doubt that this album will be popular given enough exposure/publicity. Which of course is what we at the Progspace strive to do, especially for these relatively unknown bands. There is plenty of creativity, resulting in a mixture of styles from progressive metal to funk and much more, with a generous sprinkle of modern metal.

Allegaeon – The Ossuary Lens
Like all the best albums The Ossuary Lens gets better with every play because there is so much going on. If, and I hope this is the case, an eighth album is planned then bring it on I say.

Frogg – Eclipse
There is no denying that there is a lot of talent on show here. Frogg obviously have a desire to produce something unusual and it will be interesting to see where they go from here.

The Five Hundred – Ghostwriter
This is an album that showcases The Five Hundred’s willingness to push boundaries and explore new musical territories. I’m sure they must be very happy with the results of their hard work. Hopefully this will inspire them to evolve even further and I for one can’t wait to see where this exciting band goes next.

Paul Sadler – The Irrational EP
This man never fails to impress with his musicality. Whether it be extreme or melodic and everything in-between, it is always accomplished and professional. I am sure some of you are hoping for a resurgence of Spires like I am. For now though, whatever he chooses to compose is just fine by me, because the quality is guaranteed. Who knows what will be next? Whatever it is, it’s bound to be worth waiting for.

Dream Theater – Parasomnia
Hopefully there will be much more to come from Dream Theater. If this album is representative of their future musical direction, then count me in for the ride.

Danefae – Trøst
With their second album, Danish metal band Danefae have dished up a fusion of progressive metal and traditional Nordic musical traditions. In short, it’s progressive metal with Danish lyrics. The album has a title of “Trøst” which translates as Solace and the songs are personal stories inspired by folk legends.

Iotunn – Kinship
This is a band that have a passion for what they write and seem to strive to produce something different. It’s still relatively early days in their career and there is lots of potential for evolution. Hopefully they have a hunger for it, and we will see another release before too long.

DGM – Endless
I thought this was going to be just another solid DGM album. It is DGM at their best with a few extra ingredients thrown in to spice things up. I have a few albums by them, but this is a fantastic addition. Hopefully we won’t have to wait too long before the next offering and who knows what else is in store.

Never Obey Again – Trust
If their output continues as it has so far, it will be hard to keep up with them. This is a happening band who you may well find on the line-up of a festival sometime soon. I hope I am lucky enough to be at one such event because I’m sure this material will transfer very well to the live environment.

Haven of Echoes – Memento Vivere
I found it difficult to select my favourite tracks on this album because they are all excellent. So, I just picked the two longest ones, because you get more bang for your buck with those! When I reviewed their first album, I scored it 9/10 but this one is getting a 10.

Oceans of Slumber – Where Gods Fear to Speak
This album is definitely going to be in my album of the year contenders list as I cannot fault it in any way. I don’t dish out full marks very often, but I have no option but to do so in this case. I have a new band to follow, and they have a new fan.

Kingcrow – Hopium
This is album number eight for Kingcrow, who knows where album number nine will take them. Maybe into darker and stranger realms.

Sunburst – Manifesto
It’s hard to beat great vocals and stunningly dexterous guitar playing backed up by a solid rhythm section. There are no doubt reasons why they have only produced two albums in 14 years. I hope the next one will be released before too long. If it’s as good as “Manifesto,” it will be well worth waiting for.

Ghost on Mars – Out of Time and Space
Well, what can I say? This is a stunner of a debut album. I can’t help thinking that these guys are perfect for festivals such as Progpower Europe. I would certainly welcome a chance to see them live. What have the Romans ever done for us? Need you ask? It goes without saying that I am looking forward very much to future works from them.

Cypecore – Make me Real
This band probably should be better known, they have a cool image and an interesting concept, almost a brand. By all accounts their live shows are something to behold. Whether I get to witness that remains to be seen, maybe not. Regardless, there is a back catalogue to investigate and possible future episodes of Cypecore to look forward to.

Omnivide – A Tale of Fire
The mix of styles in the material on “A Tale of Fire” speaks volumes to me. Debut albums are always a great stepping stone for bands, and I hope this landmark moment will spur them on. I am sure they have plenty of ideas in their locker and I look forward to hearing more from them.

Artificial Language – Distant Glow EP
As good as this EP is, I hope it is a stopgap in lieu of another full album. That would be most welcome, and this is certainly a band to watch out for.
