LEPROUS  Conquers Klub Progresja (Warsaw) with a Captivating and Intense Show

On February 1, 2025, Leprous once again proved why they belong at the top of the progressive rock and metal scene. In a sold-out Klub Progresja in Warsaw, the Norwegian band delivered an impressive set showcasing both their technical virtuosity and emotional depth. This performance was part of their "An Exclusive Evening With" tour, where they played two full sets in honor of their latest album Melodies Of Atonement (2024). This marked their 22nd performance in Poland over the past 15 years. While they played for just around a hundred fans in 2010, they now stood before more than ten times that number in a packed venue.

The audience was a diverse mix of devoted fans and new listeners, primarily composed of longtime followers in their forties, but also younger music lovers drawn to Leprous’ unique style. Notably absent were the typical metal outfits; instead, the venue radiated an atmosphere of pure musical appreciation, with every song deeply experienced by the crowd.

New Album, New Sound

Leprous has evolved from a technical prog-metal band into a versatile group that effortlessly experiments with melancholic soundscapes, intense emotion and refined melodies. Their new album brings a heavier sound and was warmly received by the audience, consisting of both dedicated fans and newcomers alike.

Highlights of the Evening

The show kicked off with Silently Walking Alone, followed by The Price, where Einar Solberg’s vocal prowess immediately stood out. Songs like I Hear the Sirens and Like a Sunken Ship introduced a mysterious tension, while Forced Entry and Out of Here demonstrated the band’s technical and emotional versatility. Nighttime Disguise closed the first set with a blend of subtle and explosive passages.

After a short break, the second set began with Unfree My Soul, followed by Below, a mesmerizing and layered track. A standout moment came with Faceless, where a fan choir joined live for a goosebump-inducing experience. From the Flame and Slave reignited the energy before the band ended the night with an intense version of The Sky Is Red (second part).

Throughout the evening, the audience was treated to both new material from Melodies Of Atonement and classics from previous albums, striking a perfect balance between their evolving sound and recognizable style.

Conclusion

Leprous once again demonstrated in Warsaw why they are one of the most innovative and emotionally impactful bands in the progressive rock and metal world. With a perfectly balanced set and flawless execution, this was an evening that fans will remember for a long time.
