Omnerod present crushing re-interpretation of epic Panspermia
After last years triumphant “Amensal Rise” release, Belgian progressive death metal prodigies Omnerod return with a vicious reimagining of a deep cut from the band’s back catalog. “Panspermia” is a track from the bands’ debut album, re-interpreted by the current lineup and bended into dark, new shapes going beyond the original framework.
And along with it, the band has released this accompanying lyric video that both underlines the trippy and violent nature of the music on display.
The band had the following to say about this new audio barrage:
“The small group of people who were already around when we released our first album Ivory Dune might recall a song called Panspermia. Those of us who were part of the band then were always quite fond of this song, even though it sounds like the incestual creative baby of 3 immature and intoxicated teenagers throwing dumb ideas around the rehearsal space (which it totally was).
To celebrate the 10 years of Ivory Dune, we have decided to completely revisit this 16-minute beast and give it the love (and hate) it deserves. We do feel like this is a direct continuation of The Amensal Rise, both musically and thematically, and we can’t wait for you all to hear this!”
Check out the lyric video one day ahead of the general digital release of “Panspermia” right here in this exclusive premiere on The Progspace:
This new release is mixed by Julien Huyssens (A close friend of the band and great engineer), and mastered by Tony Lindgren at Fascination Street Studios, Sweden.
