ProgPower Europe interviews: Hei’An
This is a series of short interviews ProgPower Europe did with some of the bands billed for the 2023 edition of the festival, to happen between 6 and 8 of October 2023, in Baarlo, The Netherlands.
Now is the turn to get to know a bit more from Hei’An from Slovenia! The band will be performing for the first time at ProgPower Europe 2023 and we can’t wait to see them live! . Don’t miss out and get your tickets now!
This is your first performance at ProgPower, how did you get to know the festival?
It is our first performance at ProgPower indeed, and we are so honored to be part of it! I heard of the festival a few times before, when some bands I listen to performed at it, and I came across some articles about it last year via The Progspace. But as a pretty new band that just started doing live shows in early 2023, we would have never even thought about trying to apply and play at ProgPower so early on in our career, but our booking agent Wietze from Codex Agency surprised us with an offer from ProgPower in the late months of last year, which is when we were booked. And the booking certainly helped with some other festival bookings for 2023 (as this one was announced first), so we can’t express our gratitude to ProgPower enough for having us this year! Super excited for the show!
What are your expectations of this year’s ProgPower?
Well, first and foremost, I expect it will be a fantastic show, as we know we have some fans in the Netherlands, because we got quite a few online merch orders from there, and we know about some fans that will be travelling there from other countries that are excited to see us, so I am just excited to have the chance to play in front of those people and finally meet them, and of course I love the fact we will be able to “test” our live show in front of some completely new listeners that weren’t aware of us before! I also find it surreal that we will be sharing the stage with bands like Dordeduh, Wheel, Wilderun, etc., and I am really excited to see all the other band’s shows, and to meet them in person, that will be fun for sure! So I expect an amazing experience, both as a performer and as a fan 🙂
Being able to meet the members of a band that is playing is one of the things people appreciate at ProgPower Europe. What would you say to visitors that would like to meet up after the show?
To all the visitors that would like to meet up with us after the show, I say: We appreciate you very much, we are very grateful that you listen to our music and support us, and please, DO come and meet up with us after the show, as we love meeting you and talking to you, and partying with you if you like! 🙂
What other bands in the ProgPower Europe 2023 line-up are you looking forward to?
Well, as was hinted above, I am particularly excited to see Dordeduh, as I have been a fan for a long time and they are just a fantastic band with some mind-blowingly great music, plus I’ve never seen them live before! And I think I can say the same for everybody else in the band, we love Dordeduh and we are super excited to see them! But of course, we are looking forward to seeing every other band as well, and to meet them in person, as we knew and enjoyed some of the bands before, some we discovered and listened to because of their announcement at ProgPower, and I think we can all agree the whole lineup is full of super talented musicians, so we will try to see as many shows as we can while we are there
Anything you really would like to share with our audience?
To the ProgPower audience: We are looking forward to meeting you all and to performing in front of everybody, and we hope you will enjoy watching us and listening to us at least half as much as we will undoubtedly enjoy playing in front of all of you! See you soon!
