Poly-Math premiere their fifth album Something Deeply Hidden exclusively here at The Progspace

Brighton/London based UK Math/Prog Rockers Poly-Math began work on their new album “Something Deeply Hidden” in 2024 alongside the preliminarily released EP “The Halting Problem”. These two releases are the first to include abstract expressionist artwork created by guitarist Tim Walters. Both the album and EP are the first releases to be largely recorded by the band themselves. In style, they both move away from the formulaic structure of Poly-Math’s previous work and include a greater focus on improvisational solos and expansive percussion.

The band had the following to say about the recording of their new, fifth album:

Something Deeply Hidden has been a totally different experience for us to write together. It’s the first album we’ve ever co-produced as a band. And, we recorded 90% of the instruments individually in our home studios, which afforded us unlimited time to really focus on each part, try different things. We were really able to hunt for tones, or try new improvised sections without keeping half an eye on the clock in the studio. We’ve been able to dive into our prog and more laid back Ethio-jazz influences much more on this record. It’s still full of big riffs, and what you’d expect from a Poly-Math album, but we’d like to think it’s more dynamic and a broader sounding more natural record than anything we’ve done before.”

Today, we’re happy to present an exclusive advance album stream of “Something Deeply Hidden”, two days before the album’s general digital release:

“Something Deeply Hidden” will be released this Friday, April 10, 2026 on The Lasers Edge.

“Something Deeply Hidden” was mixed by Mark Roberts, mastered by Chris Muth, and features additional guitar on ‘Terror Management Theory’ by Ben Harris and additional music on ‘The Universe As An Engine’ by C. A. Walters, the latter of which arrives as the album’s lead single.

Poly-Math will support “Something Deeply Hidden” with tour dates scattered across the UK and Europe beginning the day of the album’s release, April 10th, running through May 23rd. During the tour, Poly-Math will also include additional percussionist, Sam Simpson of Memory of Elephants, to better portray the tracks on the new album.

Talking about touring in general and the upcoming Something Deeply Hidden UK & European Tour 2026, the band reckons:

“Playing live has always been a really fundamental part of why we love doing Poly-Math. Getting to tour, and play night after night around Europe, is just the best bit of being a weird, obscure, instrumental band. We’ve got a pretty comprehensive tour this time. We’ve got a solid run of shows in Europe, and then some great UK dates. We’re especially looking forward to our launch show at Oslo in Hackney. It’ll be our biggest ever headliner, and it’s really special to get to do it in such an amazing venue.”

Co-Founder of The Progspace - Dario discovered the world of Prog upon hearing "Shine on you crazy diamond" for the first time at the tender age of 12 around the turn of the millennium. Coming from a musical family and brought up with classical music, this seemed to be the logical next step. Attended the school of www.progulus.com from 2002, delving into both directions: catching up with the history of already more than 30 years of progressive music as well as always staying up to date with the newest prog sounds. He loves meeting like-minded people and enjoying live music at a concert somewhere in Europe.
