Mostly Autumn at De Nieuwe Nor in Heerlen, The Netherlands
The British band Mostly Autumn embarked on a tour across mainland Europe, including three concerts in Uden, Heerlen, and Oberhausen. We had the pleasure of attending their performance in Heerlen. Mostly Autumn, hailing from York, was formed in 1996 by Bryan Josh. Drawing inspiration from iconic bands like Genesis and Pink Floyd, Mostly Autumn has crafted a distinctive sound over the years, characterized by a fusion of progressive folk, symphonic elements, and heavy influences.
The band line-up includes Bryan Josh on guitar, Olivia Sparnenn on vocals, Chris Johnson on guitar and keyboards, Angela Gordon on flute, vocals, and keyboards, Andy Smith on bass, and Henry Rogers on drums. Despite the absence of keyboardist Iain Jennings for this performance, Chris and Angela seamlessly filled the void.
The band treated the audience to a diverse selection of songs from their extensive repertoire. Standout moments included Bryan's mesmerizing guitar solos, Angela's enchanting flute melodies, Chris's virtuosic performance on guitar and keyboards, and Olivia's angelic vocals. The rhythm section, anchored by Andy and Henry, provided a solid foundation throughout the show.
The highlight of the evening was undoubtedly the epic performance of "White Rainbow," which showcased the band's musical prowess and collective energy.
Overall, Mostly Autumn delivered a captivating and memorable performance at De Nieuwe Nor in Heerlen, leaving the audience spellbound with their talent and creativity.
