Swiss Post Prog phenomenon NevBorn reveal epic new single Knossos

Swiss progressive/post metal band NevBorn is preparing to unveil their second album, “Alkaios · Part II · The Peacock”, via Luminol Records on March 30, 2025. Continuing the epic tale of Heracles, the album features four expansive tracks, promising another chapter of intricate storytelling and progressive metal mastery.

Musically, “Alkaios · Part II · The Peacock” takes inspiration from iconic bands like Circa Survive, The Ocean, and Agent Fresco, blending emotive and expansive soundscapes with the intensity and dynamic energy of progressive metal. NevBorn’s journey in the progressive metal scene began with their critically acclaimed debut album, “Five Horizons”, in 2015. In 2017, they explored new creative territory with the one-song EP “Daídalos”, a 20-minute epic featuring Loïc Rossetti of The Ocean, cementing their reputation for crafting complex, narrative-driven compositions.

In 2023, NevBorn launched their most ambitious project to date: a trilogy inspired by the Twelve Labors of Heracles. The first installment, “Alkaios · Part I · The Eagle”, received widespread praise for its intricate compositions and meticulously detailed arrangements, setting the bar high for the upcoming chapters in this extraordinary saga. Today, the Swiss quintet unveils ‘Knossos’, the second single leading up to the realease of “Alkaios · Part II · The Peacock”, following the equally epic 2024 singles ‘Stymfalia’ and ‘Elis’:

‘Knossos’ is a progressive metal track that immerses listeners in the tension and determination of Heracles’ battle with the Cretan Bull. The song’s dynamic composition mirrors the hero’s struggle, featuring a striking emotional duality: tranquil, meditative passages contrast sharply with intense, heartrending climaxes. This bipolarity in emotion makes the track both captivating and unpredictable, drawing listeners deeper into its narrative. The inclusion of a saxophone solo by Elori Baume further enriches the experience, adding an intense yet soothing dimension to the song’s intricate storytelling and powerful instrumentation.

Dario

Co-Founder of The Progspace - Dario discovered the world of Prog upon hearing "Shine on you crazy diamond" for the first time at the tender age of 12 around the turn of the millennium. Coming from a musical family and brought up with classical music, this seemed to be the logical next step. Attended the school of www.progulus.com from 2002, delving into both directions: catching up with the history of already more than 30 years of progressive music as well as always staying up to date with the newest prog sounds. He loves meeting like-minded people and enjoying live music at a concert somewhere in Europe.
