Paatos live at Ino-Rock 2024

Paatos live at Ino-Rock 2024
One of the main attractions of the Ino-Rock Festival 2024 was the return of Swedish band Paatos, marking their first performance in five years. Known for blending progressive rock, trip-hop, and alternative influences, Paatos has maintained a cult following despite their absence from the mainstream. With a nearly completed new album and a refreshed lineup, their comeback performance carried high expectations. The band captivated the audience from the start with "Gasoline," delivering a powerful blend of dreamy atmospheres and explosive energy, followed by "Happiness," which brought a more upbeat tone influenced by bands like Porcupine Tree and Radiohead.

Paatos also introduced new material, including the dark, introspective track "Beyond," offering a glimpse of their evolving sound. The audience embraced these new songs, as well as old favorites like "Gone" and "Absinth Minded," which showcased the band's ability to translate complex studio recordings into compelling live performances. The set concluded with the emotional track "Tea," sung in Swedish and dedicated to the daughter of Petronella and Hux Nettermalm. Overall, the band struck a balance between honoring their past and embracing their future, leaving the audience eager for their upcoming album and reaffirming their place in the progressive rock scene.
