Apotheus live at ProgPower Europe 2024
Portuguese band Apotheus followed with their own brand of progressive metal, rooted in melodic frameworks and atmospheric layers. Their sound leans toward the heavier, more conceptual side of prog, drawing inspiration from bands like Evergrey and Soen. Their performance was focused on narrative-driven compositions, echoing themes from their conceptual albums "The Far Star" and "Ergo Atlas". While perhaps more restrained than other acts that day, and not my preferred style within the progniverse, they delivered a clean and consistent show that found its audience among fans of moody and cinematic prog metal.
