Terra live at ProgPower Europe 2024

Terra live at ProgPower Europe 2024

The Italian band Terra faced significant technical challenges during their set at ProgPower Europe 2024. Issues with the in-ear monitoring system caused a substantial delay. Armed with humor and good spirits despite these setbacks, the band chose to proceed without their backline and monitoring, delivering a fully live performance. A magnificent performance I must say!

Their determination paid off. The set was mesmerizing, featuring extra tribal drums played by the guitar and bass player as well as flutes (and another drum!) played by the guitarist and talented illustrator, Paolo Luciani. The band's blend of primal tribal and ethnic music with modern alternative metal created a unique and captivating sound. To highlight as well was the sheer exhuberance of their performance as well as the subtle at times but incredible strong vocals from their drummer Daniele Zed Berretta. What a feat to sing and play drums during the whole set! Supporting vocals were duty of Lorenzo JB Saponetta on the guitars and Stefano Alfonsi on the bass.

A special mention goes to the sound engineer whose efforts ensured the band's sound remained cohesive and impactful despite the technical difficulties. The audience responded with enthusiasm, appreciating the band's resilience and the raw, unfiltered energy of their eclectic and superb performance.
