ProgPower Europe interviews: An Abstract Illusion
This is a series of short interviews ProgPower Europe did with some of the bands billed for the 2023 edition of the festival, to happen between 6 and 8 of October 2023, in Baarlo, The Netherlands.
An Abstract Illusion from Sweden published their second album “Woe” achieved high praise, their balanced mix of beautiful melodies and atmospheric death metal inspired by black metal, progressive rock and electronica is something we really want to witness live at ProgPower Europe 2023! Don’t miss out and get your tickets now!
This is your first performance at ProgPower, how did you get to know the festival?
Being in the prog realm, ProgPower is known for hosting some really cool and eclectic bands which we are fans of. We’re excited to join the ranks of ProgPower alumni!
What are your expectations of this year’s ProgPower?
A great show, meeting new people and all the other bands (and watching them tear up the stage!). This will be our first international performance as well, so we’re looking forward to that.
Being able to meet the members of a band that is playing is one of the things people appreciate at ProgPower Europe. What would you say to visitors that would like to meet up after the show?
Meeting our fans is always one of the highlights of playing live music. We’re friendly, despite our very Swedish demeanor, so don’t hesitate to come up to us after the show or elsewhere in Baarlo.
What other bands in the ProgPower Europe 2023 line-up are you looking forward to?
Maraton released one of the best albums of 2022, so they’ll be fun to catch live. Omnerod released a great album this year as well.
Anything you really would like to share with our audience?
We’re working hard to bring you the best show possible and looking forward to bringing it to the stage. Please join us on the 7th October, it’s gonna be lots of fun!
