Sivert Høyem – live at Ino-Rock 2024
Sivert Høyem, the renowned Norwegian singer-songwriter, delivered an immersive and atmospheric performance at Ino-Rock Festival, showcasing his deep baritone and poetic lyrics. Opening with "Lioness" from his album Lioness, Høyem set a dark, somber tone that captivated the audience from the first note. His voice, filled with melancholy, paired perfectly with the slow, immersive melodies, leaving listeners in a trance. Highlights of the set included the emotionally charged "Prisoner of the Road" and the ominous "Now You See Me/Now You Don’t," both of which further deepened the introspective mood.
Supported by a talented band, including guitarist Christer Knutsen and drummer Børge Fjordheim, Høyem’s performance was an evocative journey through his extensive catalog. Tracks like "Give It a Whirl" brought raw energy and a gospel twist, while the exotic "The Boss Bossa-Nova" offered a surprising change in pace. The night concluded with the powerful "Sleepwalking Man" and "Run Away," with Høyem and his band ending the show on a high note by revisiting the Madrugada classic "Majesty." His performance reaffirmed his place as one of Norway's most authentic and emotionally resonant artists, leaving a lasting impression on fans of dark, introspective rock.
