I cannot fault this latest release in any way. Five years has been a long time to wait for it but it’s well worth that wait. I and many others now need to wait with bated breath for whatever Chris comes up with next. It’s guaranteed to be excellent; his track record ensures that.

entirely instrumental. Taking up almost 20% of the album it is the most varied and pleasing track for me.
This is a band I haven’t come across before, but I’m glad I have now. I’m going to investigate their other albums because I feel that I might have missed out. It will be interesting to see what comes next because they have a penchant for telling stories in detail both lyrically and musically.
These nine tracks spanning 64 minutes provide time well spent. I’m glad this band is still going and producing quality material. I hope they have plans for a third album, because that would be very welcome indeed.

The straightforward death metal parts sound much like many other bands. The flamenco sections are delightful, but the best bits come when they merge the two styles in what can only be described as Death Flamenco. They prefer to call it Hispanic Metal, and if that’s not progressive enough, I don’t know what is.

This band have an ambition, which is to push their brand of progressive rock/metal into the big leagues. I think they have what it takes to achieve that, although there is some serious competition out there. Hopefully this album will get them a little closer to their aspirations. Another band to watch out for, me thinks. Could that be in the form of ‘Autofiction Pt. 2’ perhaps?

This band has been around for over 20 years and there have been multiple band members come and go. So, with just 3 albums and 1 EP during that time, I’m not expecting anything else from them anytime soon. This latest album will have to do for now, and that’s just fine by me.

I have no doubt that this album will be popular given enough exposure/publicity. Which of course is what we at the Progspace strive to do, especially for these relatively unknown bands. There is plenty of creativity, resulting in a mixture of styles from progressive metal to funk and much more, with a generous sprinkle of modern metal.

This is an album that showcases The Five Hundred’s willingness to push boundaries and explore new musical territories. I’m sure they must be very happy with the results of their hard work. This is a band that have a passion for what they write and seem to strive to produce something different. It’s still relatively early days in their career and there is lots of potential for evolution. Hopefully they have a hunger for it, and we will see another release before too long.

I thought this was going to be just another solid DGM album. It is DGM at their best with a few extra ingredients thrown in to spice things up. I have a few albums by them, but this is a fantastic addition. Hopefully we won’t have to wait too long before the next offering and who knows what else is in store.

If their output continues as it has so far, it will be hard to keep up with them. This is a happening band who you may well find on the line-up of a festival sometime soon. I hope I am lucky enough to be at one such event because I’m sure this material will transfer very well to the live environment.

I found it difficult to select my favourite tracks on this album because they are all excellent. So, I just picked the two longest ones, because you get more bang for your buck with those! When I reviewed their first album, I scored it 9/10 but this one is getting a 10.
