Italian Djent brigade premieres video for Scars

Riptides where born in 2019 and immediately present a musical vein linked to modernprogressive metal / djent influences. Influenced by some ot the greatest bands of the genre likesuch as Periphery, Monuments, After the Burial, their sound is also influenced by a more oldschool line. A mix between prog metal , djent, death metal ans progressive composition with the inclusionof electronic parts, the band defines their music concept as follows :

“Like oceans currents, our music is fluid, borderless and constantly changing”

About their new single, “Scars”, the band commented further:

“Scars is a song that talks about forgiving and forgiving yourself. The human being is made of something more than the sum of the parts, it is what hides under every scars. Each of us makes mistakes and each of us can fall, what defines us is how often we are willing to get back on our feet and try again.”

Dario

Co-Founder of The Progspace - Dario discovered the world of Prog upon hearing "Shine on you crazy diamond" for the first time at the tender age of 12 around the turn of the millennium. Coming from a musical family and brought up with classical music, this seemed to be the logical next step. Attended the school of www.progulus.com from 2002, delving into both directions: catching up with the history of already more than 30 years of progressive music as well as always staying up to date with the newest prog sounds. He loves meeting like-minded people and enjoying live music at a concert somewhere in Europe.
