Poem, Damnations Day and White Walls Tour Review

Poem has the professionalism, stage presence, talent, and songwriting skills of a much bigger act, and I can only hope that festival organizers and the progressive community will give them the attention they deserve in the future. On the way out of the venue there were a lot of smiling faces and happy audience members, all in all, a night to remember.

Jordsjø – Jord

“Jord” is Scandinavian old-school prog done majestically. There’s really nothing more I can say other than every prog fan really needs to listen to this album and this band.

Tour review: Malina 2017 – Leprous, Agent Fresco, Alithia and Astrosaur

With all the surprises, strong support (or co-headliner) acts and a Leprous performance that seemed out of this world, the “Malina” tour ranks on the top of the list of 2017, for some (like our Munich reviewer Dario!) even leaving behind the likes of the Ayreon Universe shows and Shattered Fortress, both among the highlights of the concerts roster of 2017 in Europe. Schammasch – The Maldoror Chants: Hermaphrodite

Schammasch keeps showing up to work with their second release this year, bringing an EP that will probably polarize their fanbase but anything goes in the name of progress. The Maldoror Chants: Hermaphrodite is a dark, gloomy, moody and beautifully executed concept that haunts and traps the listener in a melancholic ride, then setting them free after half an hour of ritualistic chants, drones and doomy black metal.
