Haarp premiere a somewhat jazzy Percussive Maintenance
Austrian Jazz Fusion Trio Haarp is ready to reveal ‘Percussive Maintenance‘, the first new single after their debut EP “HAARP, Pt.1“.
Composer and guitarist Andreas Erd chimed in about the origins of the song:
The song was actually derived from the intro section, the unison line was written as a standalone piece in autumn 2023. The main part of this song was mostly written in a train in spring 2024, with me being inspired to write but having a laptop that wasn’t working the way I wanted it to work. Out of this motivation combined with frustration, the main melody and harmony were created. I chose more or less simple chords with a bassline that acts as a counterpart moving in the opposite direction most of the time. The B-Part and C-Part of the song symbolize the imagination of ‘revenge’ on machines that don’t work the way they should by giving them a proper ‘smack’ and feeling relieved afterwards.
