Perfect Storm carefully crafted “Stairs” prioritizing quality and integrating new members, resulting in a strong successor to their debut. With more powerful drums, adventurous keyboards, and expanded guitar solos, the album blends progressive rock with heavier elements and hints of progressive metal. Their thoughtful approach has enhanced their unique sound while avoiding a mere repetition of their first album. 9/10
I know technical death metal is not for everyone, but beyond the death metal element, there’s a dimension of theater, poetry and drama, and a message of power and standing against all odds, that I think will inspire almost anyone.
“Vermillion” is an unexpected surprise, and a very welcome addition to the endlessly growing culture of symphonic and progressive metal that the Dutch are so good at.
I thought this was going to be just another solid DGM album. It is DGM at their best with a few extra ingredients thrown in to spice things up. I have a few albums by them, but this is a fantastic addition. Hopefully we won’t have to wait too long before the next offering and who knows what else is in store.
If their output continues as it has so far, it will be hard to keep up with them. This is a happening band who you may well find on the line-up of a festival sometime soon. I hope I am lucky enough to be at one such event because I’m sure this material will transfer very well to the live environment.

Hamburg Prog Night took place in MarX, Hamburg, as part of Yuval Ron Trio’s tour in Germany with support from local bands Ignes Nova and Civic Soma.
Midsummer Prog Festival 2023 was an event not to be missed and The Progspace was there. We thorougly enjoyed the fine selection of bands, offering excellent shows in one of the most beautiful venues in The Netherlands: Valkenburg Open Air Theater with Riverside, Haken, Frost, Airbag, Meer, Kingcrow, Von Hertzen Brothers, The Dear Hunter, Cobra the Impaler and The Windmill
