Soulsplitter live at Prog Metal Mania in Munich! 3rd May 2025

Soulsplitter

I was really happy to see German band Soulsplitter live again. The first time I caught them was in a very small venue, but seeing them on a proper stage at Prog Metal Mania suited their music, artistry, and professionalism perfectly.

Their blend of classic progressive metal with jazz, virtuosity, and classical influences, especially in the keyboards, was superb. The keyboardist, Lewin Krumpschmid delivered a short but memorable piano solo that elevated the set. Sami Gayed, the vocalist, carries a heavy load fronting such a complex band, and he does it incredibly well.

The theatrical vibes, combined with their modern, dark, futuristic costumes, made their stage presence compelling and immersive. A highlight was the premiere of a new song from their upcoming album, featuring the wonderful Ophelia Sullivan as a guest vocalist. It was a beautiful and powerful moment. Their music is intense and emotionally charged, and I hope to see them again on a much bigger stage, they truly deserve it.
