Canada’s The Wring gears up for 3rd album with new single From Mars

Canada’s The Wring is gearing up to release a third album next month, which is an expansive progressive metal offering that gives plenty of attention to different styles, making it diverse enough for metalheads of all kinds. The band was brought together by solo artist Don Dewulf, who has enlisted an impressive group of professional musicians that includes Marco Minnemann (The Aristocrats), Chandler MogelReggie Hache, and Isamu McGregor to bring the project to life. Today. the third single ‘From Mars’ is premiering exclusively here at The Progspace that will show another side of the album “Spectra”. Dewulf comments on the single:

“This is one of my favourite songs on the record. Somewhat autobiographical, I think. As a younger person, I really struggled in crowds, especially ones in which I did not belong; which was most. If you’ve ever felt like a complete alien in a room full of people, you will relate! I am very proud of the middle breakdown. Some cool chords and a very fun solo. Another great performance by Chandler and by Reggie who played some killer bass and also came up with the spooky little piano line in the verses.”

The music video for ‘From Mars’ featuring Marco Minnemann can be seen and heard in this exclusive premiere right here:

The last album “Project Cipher”(2021), was very well received globally, garnering great reviews and lots of positive feedback. Read our very own Bob’s review right here. “Spectra” carries on in the same tradition and headspace as its predecessor, but according to Dewulf, the songs are a bit fuller and more cohesive. He is hoping it brings new excitement to the listener.

He continues to explain that “Spectra” is maybe a bit like a 1970’s King Crimson album, but without any ethereal soliloquies and certainly with a more significant hard rock/metal influence. It is a cauldron of hard rock, jazz, metal, classical, 80’s rock, 70’s rock, and probably a few other things.

“Spectra” is due out on December 16, 2022, via WormHoleDeath Records.

Album Recording Line Up:
Don Dewulf – Guitars
Marco Minnemann – Drums
Chandler Mogel – Vocals
Reggie Hache – Bass & Keyboards
Isamu McGregor – Keyboards

Co-Founder of The Progspace - Dario discovered the world of Prog upon hearing "Shine on you crazy diamond" for the first time at the tender age of 12 around the turn of the millennium. Coming from a musical family and brought up with classical music, this seemed to be the logical next step. Attended the school of from 2002, delving into both directions: catching up with the history of already more than 30 years of progressive music as well as always staying up to date with the newest prog sounds. He loves meeting like-minded people and enjoying live music at a concert somewhere in Europe.
