Australian composer Thomas Pearce presents new Capermote EP “Invenio”

On “Invenio”, the second EP release of Thomas Pearce under the Capermote moniker, the Adelaidian composer teams up with an array of world class vetted musicians to create a body of work with a noticeable step-up in quality from his debut. Invenio is a diverse EP full of dynamics, varying from melodic rock, thrash metal & cinematic triumphs. Under Adam Bentley’s (Arch Echo) hands and mind, the EP is presented as a beautiful contrast between modern heavy sound and vintage dynamics of a previous era. The EP releases alongside an accompanying essay, available for download via bandcamp.

Thomas Pearce about “Invenio”:

“Echo Chamber Puppeteers” was a critique of the world. Of how society manifests itself into various organisational and power structures. It was the grievance of a man who was in the process of figuring out the why in how the world works. “Invenio” is a reflection of the self. Who I am and my place in the world. Where I go from here, I have no idea. Hopefully I don’t just evaporate, have a one hit wonder (please let me have a one hit wonder) followed by a lifetime of stints in rehab, live on a mountain top and learn to put both my feet behind my head, become a cult leader, have my curiosity surgically removed from my brain, or get kidnapped by aliens”.

Furthermore he opens up about the concepts behind the three songs on “Invenio”:

Prance is about embracing the discovery of new versions of ourselves that are only found through beginning anew and walking the path, no matter how hard or unclear. It is about moving forward curiously, peering over to the other side to see what we might become. It is about trusting that it is good for us and ultimately finding ways to enjoy the process.”

Zeela, meaning shadow is conceptually explained as figuring out what is bubbling below and learning to harness that energy in a proactive way.”

Invenio is about yearning for clarity, finding it, realizing there is more, and going again, excitedly.”

About the Author

Dario

Co-Founder of The Progspace - Dario discovered the world of Prog upon hearing "Shine on you crazy diamond" for the first time at the tender age of 12 around the turn of the millennium. Coming from a musical family and brought up with classical music, this seemed to be the logical next step. Attended the school of www.progulus.com from 2002, delving into both directions: catching up with the history of already more than 30 years of progressive music as well as always staying up to date with the newest prog sounds. He loves meeting like-minded people and enjoying live music at a concert somewhere in Europe.
