This is a band that have a passion for what they write and seem to strive to produce something different. It’s still relatively early days in their career and there is lots of potential for evolution. Hopefully they have a hunger for it, and we will see another release before too long.
Perfect Storm – Stairs
Perfect Storm carefully crafted “Stairs” prioritizing quality and integrating new members, resulting in a strong successor to their debut. With more powerful drums, adventurous keyboards, and expanded guitar solos, the album blends progressive rock with heavier elements and hints of progressive metal. Their thoughtful approach has enhanced their unique sound while avoiding a mere repetition of their first album. 9/10
Fleshgod Apocalypse – Opera
I know technical death metal is not for everyone, but beyond the death metal element, there’s a dimension of theater, poetry and drama, and a message of power and standing against all odds, that I think will inspire almost anyone.
