ProgPower Europe interviews: Ihlo

ProgPower Europe interviews: Ihlo

This is a series of short interviews ProgPower Europe did with some of the bands billed for the 2023 edition of the festival, to happen between 6 and 8 of October 2023, in Baarlo, The Netherlands.

Ihlo from the UK is a band we’re so happy to present at ProgPower Europe as we’ve been following their career taking off through the years. They released their second single in our website back in February 2019, and the following year they did a fantastic appearance at our first Online Festival in 2020 resulting in the release of their “In Stasis” live EP. We’re so happy the ProgPower crew noticed them and invited them to this year maginif lineup. We’re super stoked to finally see the brits live at ProgPower Europe 2023!

This is your first performance at ProgPower, how did you get to know the festival?

We’ve known of the festival mostly through its community in recent years! Of course the event has a great history of incredible bands that have shaped our own influences, but it really came to our attention through friends and fans who attend and tell us how great it is!

What are your expectations of this year’s ProgPower?

We fully expect it to be absolutely wild. We’re really looking forward to bringing our show to the Netherlands for the first time and to be part of such a great festival.

Being able to meet the members of a band that is playing is one of the things people appreciate at ProgPower Europe. What would you say to visitors that would like to meet up after the show?

Come meet us and talk! We’re all extremely grateful to have the opportunity to talk to anybody who shares an interest in our music or similar! As long as we’re not wrapped in a deadly coil of wires and cables, we’re here to be with you!

What other bands in the ProgPower Europe 2023 line-up are you looking forward to?

We have a good relationship with Omnerod and Obsidian Tide and are looking forward to seeing their performances on the festival stage! Maraton are another one we’re excited to see, but also every band on the bill has something really exciting to offer. We plan on checking out as much as our travel and time arrangements allow us!

Anything you really would like to share with our audience?

We hope that you are as excited for this as we are! With the clock counting down quickly to PPE kicking off, the anticipation is building and it feels like it’s going to be an incredible event. If you’re a fan, we can’t wait to see you there potentially for the first time, and to those who haven’t heard us yet, what are you waiting for?
