PROGSTORM Festival second band announced!: THE RETICENT!

The Reticent will make their highly anticipated Canadian debut at ProgStorm Festival 2025 in Montréal on August 10, marking their first-ever international performance. Led by multi-instrumentalist Chris Hathcock, the band is known for their deeply emotional and concept-driven progressive metal, blending intricate storytelling with intense musical compositions. Their latest album, “The Oubliette“, has been praised for its powerful depiction of the seven stages of Alzheimer’s disease, resonating with fans of Opeth, Katatonia, and Swallow the Sun.

Previously, The Reticent made a strong impact at ProgPower USA XXII in 2023 and has shared the stage with renowned acts like Insomnium, Cynic, and Seven Spires. Their participation in ProgStorm is a milestone event, with the band eager to make the most of this opportunity. As James Nelson expressed, they are thrilled to play in Canada for the first time and promise an

“…emotionally charged and devastating performance featuring new music from the upcoming albums.” He added, “We promise to give you every single bit of energy we have—even if it kills us.”

Fans can expect an unforgettable and deeply moving show at ProgStorm 2025.

Presented by The Progspace and organized by Metal Shed Productions, ProgStorm Festival will be Canada’s first-ever festival fully dedicated to progressive metal. Happening August 9-10, 2025, it will showcase everything from classic prog metal to the most extreme and experimental sounds. Stay tuned for more lineup announcements!
