Introducing Soulsplitter, 5th band at our 10th Anniversary show
German progressive metal collective Soulsplitter have been pushing musical boundaries since their formation in 2018. Refusing to be confined by genre labels, the band seamlessly blends progressive metal, progressive rock, orchestral arrangements, jazz, folk, post rock and extreme metal into an immersive and emotionally charged sound.
Their music is as cinematic as it is technically impressive, balancing complexity with memorable songwriting, powerful storytelling and a whirlwind of emotions, few are capable to transmit both in records as on stage.
We first discovered Soulsplitter through their outstanding debut album “Salutogenesis“. Our review awarded the album a rare 10/10, praising its ambitious songwriting, emotional depth and exceptional musicianship. Even today, it remains one of our favourite progressive metal debuts of recent years.
The band continued to evolve with their sophomore album, “Connection” (2024). While retaining the adventurous spirit of their debut, “Connection” expands Soulsplitter‘s sound with even richer arrangements, stronger dynamics and an even greater focus on atmosphere and narrative. The result is an album that feels both more mature and more cohesive, demonstrating just how much the band has grown in only a few years.
We’ve also had the pleasure of seeing Soulsplitter perform live on several occasions. One performance that especially stands out was their phenomenal set at ProgMetal Mania, where the band’s energy, precision and emotional delivery translated perfectly to the stage.
Their ability to recreate the richness of their studio recordings while adding an extra level of intensity made it one of the most memorable performances we’ve witnessed. We’ve also covered different shows, continuing to follow their journey as one of Germany’s most exciting progressive bands.

It really feels particularly fitting that Soulsplitter was one of the first bands that we invited to perform at The Progspace 10th Anniversary Show. Their fearless creativity, uncompromising musicianship and captivating live presence make them a perfect addition to this celebration, and we couldn’t be happier to welcome them to our stage.
