Double Mute CEO watches Ducks in a Row

Double Mute CEO watches Ducks in a Row

Have you ever imagined what the musical equivalent of David Lynch directing Office Space would sound like? Well, Double Mute is here to make that fantasy a reality.

Double Mute is an experimental collective, lead by Jake Rosenberg (Vitam Aeternam, Desperate Machines, In Progress), that specializes in utterly bonkers corporate-themed “music product.”

Blending elements of metal, funk, hyperpop, film scores, prog rock, electronica, chamber music, industrial, noise rock, and scathing satirical commentary on corporate culture, Double Mute prides itself on flipping the concept of “coworker music” on its head.

There is nothing more corporate than spinning off your own IP and creating your own multiverse with a character no one cares about.

Double Mute is proud to present “Corporate Culture: CEO Edition”.

“Corporate Culture: CEO Edition” is a collection of 8 unreleased tracks from the Corporate Culture Cinematic Universe (CCCU). It includes remixes, re-imaginings, and brand new material all from the POV of the most under-appreciated, overlooked, under valued, and unfairly maligned group of unsung corporate heroes: CEOs.

From the time the Executive Elevators open until the final moments of the Executive Reception, listeners will be grateful for the opportunity to have elements of industrial death metal, hyper pop, hip-hop, electronica, classical, nu metal, prog rock, and funk trickle down on them. Our vision board consisted of film soundtracks that address strong corporate leadership (The Social Network, Severance, Succession), as well as innovative disruptors such as Mr. Bungle, Primus, Kim Dracula, System of a Down, etc.

On “Corporate Culture_FINAL_v2”, the chaos was an unintended consequence of having “too many cooks in the kitchen.” On the CEO Edition, the chaos is deliberate & calculated. The music is darker and more confrontational. The overall experience is more consistent, coherent, and cinematic.

Slick your hair back, throw on those shades, snort that line, and jam this album like a boss.

“Corporate Culture: CEO Edition” will be released on CD and digital platforms on June 12th 2026.

Double Mute’s CEO would like to take the time to address the recent string of firings:

We take no pleasure in it. Well…maybe just a little pleasure. OK, fine…a lot of pleasure. Our new communication, ‘Ducks in a Row’, addresses the immense joy our CEO is feeling at the moment.

Taking cues from sleazy 90s funk metal and nu metal, ‘Ducks in a Row‘ get our message across in a way that will make fans of Mr. Bungle, Korn, Tallah, and Primus proud.

‘Ducks in a Row’ features guest appearances from Davidavi Dolev (Seventh Station, SUBMASQ), Steve Wiener (Am I In Trouble?), Jani Hace (Devil Doll, Siddharta), and Charles A. Leal (Vitam Aeternam).

‘Ducks in a Row’ will be released on digital platforms May 14th 2026, with an early premiere of its very Corporate looking lyric video for all CEOs, Employees and Corporate kids alike, right here, right now, only at The Progspace:

Mastermind Jacob Rosenberg gives some background insight into ‘Ducks in Row’:

“This might sound like sacrilege on a prog site, but nu metal has always been part of my musical DNA. It was my gateway to heavy music. It makes me happy that it is getting a bit of a resurgence. I wanted to channel some of the atmosphere and sonic aspects of bands like Korn in a context that is more experimental, theatrical, and adventurous. It turned out to be one of the weirder songs I’ve ever worked on. I’m really proud of it.”

Reflecting on the collaborational nature of his work with all the different musicans on ‘Ducks in a Row’, he had nothing but the highest praise for all of them:

“When I was obsessively listening to Devil Doll‘s ‘The Girl Who Was…Death’ and ‘Dies Irae’ in the early 2000s, I never thought in a million years I would collaborate with their bassist (Jani Hace) on a wacky nu metal song that feels much closer to stuff like Mr. Bungle, Korn, Primus, and System of a Down than Devil Doll. It’s surreal.”

Davidavi Dolev is one of the most creative and inspiring musicians I have ever had the pleasure of working with. His decision to avoid repeating vocal lines and a traditional chorus makes what could have been a more standard metal track feel like a complex twisted journey. Oh, and can we talk about the ‘guitar solo?’ It’s not guitar. He thought it would be cool to include a solo there instead of a vocal line, so he made guitar sounds with his mouth. He’s doing all of that with his mouth and a distortion pedal.”
“This project has allowed me to collaborate with so many talented and like minded musicians. I recently connected with Steve Wiener of Am I In Trouble? and Eveale and we shared a ton of musical influences and interests. He immediately understood the assignment and absolutely crushed it with his guitar contributions.”
“It’s been great to be able to work with my Vitam Aeternam bandmate, Charles A. Leal, in a different capacity on this project. He is an insanely talented drummer, producer, and engineer. We share a ton of musical influences that do not make their way into Vitam. It’s a blast to channel them here.”

About the Author

Dario

Co-Founder of The Progspace - Dario discovered the world of Prog upon hearing "Shine on you crazy diamond" for the first time at the tender age of 12 around the turn of the millennium. Coming from a musical family and brought up with classical music, this seemed to be the logical next step. Attended the school of www.progulus.com from 2002, delving into both directions: catching up with the history of already more than 30 years of progressive music as well as always staying up to date with the newest prog sounds. He loves meeting like-minded people and enjoying live music at a concert somewhere in Europe.
