The Progspace List 2018
Jan 10, 2019 | Albums
In 2018 we had an extraordinary number of quality releases, a real feast for all progressive music fans and lovers. As our team grew up, this list is a tad longer than before and it reflects very well how many releases were top of the top on so many diverse progressive genres mashups or combinations, or if you prefer, progressive sub-genres. From melodic to djent to doom to prog-death to piano-chamber music. There’s a bit for everyone! These are the favorites of our Progspace crew – our very personal short “best of” list, if you want – purely subjective, of course!

Day 3 and last of Euroblast 2018. It was all in all an excellent festival, very well organized but with a couple of hiccups here and there. Other than that this is a well-oiled machine of a festival.

Read MoreRiverside – Wasteland
Sep 8, 2018 | Albums
Riverside is back with an album that will surely end up in most, if not all, top X albums of the year. And in most of them, it’ll be right at the up. Hype? Yes. An empathic wish that these 3 musicians find their way after a tragic loss? Definitely. Lack of objectivity? Most likely. Nevertheless, “Wasteland” represents a new path for the band. One that feels right and relatable. It is an inviting narrative, feeling as if the guys were reaching out to us and letting us peek into their mourning process. And it is definitely an excellent album. 4.5★

It might have taken a while, and a trip to Hannover to see them live, but Arch Echo’s “Arch Echo” definitely delivers on their promise to make complex yet accessible modern music. The work these five guys have put into this debut is admirable and witnessing the songs in a live setting gave us what we felt was missing from the album. A must-listen and, above all, a must-see progressive band.
