The Grand Myth premiere: ‘Random Reality Shifts’
The Grand Myth is a progressive death metal project started by Brandon Bordman in Las Vegas, NV. Ahead of the release of the EP “Keeping the Flame”, we are happy to premiere the video for the cover version of Coheed and Cambria‘s ‘Random Reality Shifts‘.
Says Brandon Bordman: “For my new EP “Keeping the Flame” I wanted to cover two songs by my favorite artists. I chose Coheed and Cambria’s ‘Random Reality Shifts’ because I felt that no one had really done that song justice. I wanted to make the song sound like I always imagined it could if it was more than a demo. The video was something I put together quickly and while it’s not perfect, I think it’s a great snapshot of COVID-19 life. Messy room, playing guitar and singing loud because the world is falling apart.”
About the concept of the upcoming EP he adds: “‘Keeping the Flame’ is an EP I put together while we’ve all been sitting around waiting for the world to get back to some version of normal, it consists of two covers and one original song. My first album The Cabin followed a character as he made his way through a lovecraftian forest attempting to find a place where he could find peace. This EP is just a small departure from that concept and just something to do for fun while I work on the follow up to The Cabin and decide what other things I’m gonna subject that character to.”
“Keeping the Flame” releases on October 1st, 2020 and will be available on all digital streaming platforms. All applicable links can be found here: https://distrokid.com/
