Terravia – A New World

Norway has produced many excellent prog bands, and I see no reason why this group shouldn’t join that list.

The Veer Union – Reinvention

I find the diverse unpredictability of the material appeals to me a lot, despite the shortness of the tracks. These 10 songs are predominately melodic but with an aggressive edge.

Descend_TheDeviant

Descend – The Deviant

“With “The Deviant”, Descend have redefined themselves as a stronger, more vicious but also more balanced and refined artistic entity.” 5/5

Vulkan – Technatura

“Technatura” is full of musical class, sparking with ideas and despite being easily accessible, it is complex enough to keep the progressive rock audience entertained also at the 20th spin.

Kyros – Celexa Dreams

Kyros has with “Celexa Dreams” managed to do something quite unheard of. They have created an album of music that would not have been out of place in the era they draw inspiration from, but yet manage to fit their compositions into a modern, contemporary framework.

Mantric – False Negative

When Mantric are at their best, they are a powerhouse, combining progressive, electronic and extreme music into a dynamic and brilliant display of prog-metal.

The Night Watch – An Embarrassment of Riches

“Being a concept album about someone shipwrecked in a lonely and inhospitable place, I could easily see “An Embarrassment of Riches” being part of the soundtrack to a film, or maybe even better, accompanying one of those old black and white silent movies. The music tells its story so beautifully without the need for words or explanation. As a listener you are taken on a ride that vividly paints the isolation and turmoil that this marooned individual goes through both in mind and body”.
