Kyros has with “Celexa Dreams” managed to do something quite unheard of. They have created an album of music that would not have been out of place in the era they draw inspiration from, but yet manage to fit their compositions into a modern, contemporary framework.
When Mantric are at their best, they are a powerhouse, combining progressive, electronic and extreme music into a dynamic and brilliant display of prog-metal.
“Being a concept album about someone shipwrecked in a lonely and inhospitable place, I could easily see “An Embarrassment of Riches” being part of the soundtrack to a film, or maybe even better, accompanying one of those old black and white silent movies. As a listener you are taken on a ride that vividly paints the isolation and turmoil that this marooned individual goes through both in mind and body”.
With this album Rannoch have risen to another level. This is a strong contender for my album of 2020.
