ProgPower Europe interviews: Obsidian Tide

This is a series of short interviews ProgPower Europe did with some of the bands billed for the 2023 edition of the festival, to happen between 6 and 8 of October 2023, in Baarlo, The Netherlands.

Now is the turn to get to know a bit more from Israeli proggers Obsidian Tide! Though they was already announced for the sadly cancelled 2020 Edition, the band will finally perform for the first time at ProgPower Europe 2023 bringing music from their highly acclaimed album “Pillars of Creation“. Don’t miss out and get your tickets now!

This is your first performance at ProgPower, how did you get to know the festival?

We heard about it from friends, and we saw bands that we like posting on social media about performing there. After we released our debut album “Pillars of Creation”, we thought we’d try our luck with applying to play in the festival. When we got the email from ProgPower with the offer to perform a few weeks later, we were ecstatic!

What are your expectations of this year’s ProgPower?

Giving an awesome performance on stage, and having a ton of fun off-stage as well, both watching other shows and hanging out with the audience We heard nothing but great things about the festival and the audience, and we can’t wait to experience it first hand.

Being able to meet the members of a band that is playing is one of the things people appreciate at ProgPower Europe. What would you say to visitors that would like to meet up after the show?

Bring it on (just give us a few minutes to change shirts maybe haha)! We love interacting with our fans. Earlier this year our bassist Shachar saw Diablo Swing Orchestra live in Utrecht and got to meet and hang out with a bunch of PPE regulars – they were awesome! We can’t wait to get more of that.

What other bands in the ProgPower Europe 2023 line-up are you looking forward to?

If we had to pick a few, we’d single out our friends from Ihlo and Omnerod, and also Wilderun who have been the rising stars of the genre in the past few years.

Anything you really would like to share with our audience?

We’re very excited about this show It’s our first festival and it’s a huge honor to be included alongside all of these amazing acts. Come to the show and share the excitement. Come hang out with us! Check out our music beforehand so you can sing along with us! And thank you for being enthusiastic as we are about prog
