Exclusive! Aquae Furtivae premieres The Path of the Lost
Aquae Furtivae premieres the second single and lyric video for ‘The Path Of The Lost‘, extracted from their upcoming debut album “Road To Square One“. The concept album tells the story of a family whose father has been diagnosed with Alzheimer’s disease and the different perspectives of each member of the family dealing with the emotions and the reality of such a difficult road ahead. The album is based on a real story, written by drummer Iago Franco who shrank almost a decade of a fight against Alzheimer in his own family into about 45 minutes of a volatile and epic musical journey.
‘The Path Of The Lost‘ tells the perspective of the father as he is diagnosed, facing his emotions and acceptance of his new life. Iago Franco comments about it: “the song goes through the emotional roller coaster full of ups and downs as he fights his own thoughts of false security slowly coming to the conclusion that all the people surrounding him will become unknown as he slowly recedes in his mind forgetting his most recent memories to eventually even forget who he is himself.”

Aquae Furtivae was formed in Berlin but is essentially European. Iago Franco, hailing from Spain, formed the band alongside Anaïs Lefebvre (guttural vocals), originally from France and Jérôme Kaufmann (Guitars) from Germany. Later, from Scotland, Marc James stepped in to do bass. Renown prog-wunderkind Lucas de la Rosa provided clean vocals, some guitars, and sound engineering. While the band was originally intended as a studio band, there are plans to take the album to tour after its release. 50% of the revenues from the album sales, streams and merchandise will be donated towards Alzheimer’s research. The artwork is by the famous album artist Thomas Ewerhard.
