Inferi – Of Sunless Realms
If the material for the new album is of the same calibre as this EP, then we may well have a truly epic album to look forward to. If this band continues to evolve in this direction there will be no stopping them.

The album is truly a masterpiece of creativity and expression and it works great on its own as well as a continuation of “Phanerozoic I: Palaeozoic”. It is diverse and complex but fluid, cohesive, coherent and kept on track.
This band beautifully blends balls and brains and the end result is a truly enchanting filth-fest.
In their music melodies are first, with a strong rhythmic foundation and its organic sound, the right amount of atmospheric synths, crunchy guitars and soul-filled solos, the superb voice from Altzar and his vocal arrangements. This makes everything on The Magical Mystery Machine (Chapter 1) one of the best albums of the year.
5/5★
Listening to this album in the small hours of the night is truly something else. The sound compliments the peacefulness of the night but keeps the tension of the feeling that something might be lurking from the darkness.
