This band probably should be better known, they have a cool image and an interesting concept, almost a brand. By all accounts their live shows are something to behold. Whether I get to witness that remains to be seen, maybe not. Regardless, there is a back catalogue to investigate and possible future episodes of Cypecore to look forward to.
The fresh take on heavy orchestration in death metal is very exciting. They nailed an incredible sound and brought forth some fantastic melodies and epic moments.
This album does a great job of bringing some fresh and inventive ideas to death metal, without sacrificing any of the expected tropes of the genre.
Illumishade’s “Another Side of You” is the ultimate hybrid of genres, sounds and emotions not just because of how many puzzle pieces it puts together, but because of how beautiful and coherent the final picture is.
With “Every Sound has a Color in the Valley of Night(Part 2)”, Americans “Night Verses” completed the album, partially released last year. And it’s clear the “Part 2” shines as much as Part 1, but also adds extra flavours with two vocal-featured tracks.

ProgPower Europe 2018 – 20th-anniversary edition was a BANG! The ProgPower Europe crew knows how to deliver a fabulous weekend with excellent sound, super organization and excellent food. But the most important is that even if you don’t recognize many names on their bill, they always have the most awesome bands you haven’t heard of under their sleeves, but guaranteed: they smash everyone down!
Over forty hours of music behind us. Plenty of amazing bands, great company and a few beers along the way. Back to reality tomorrow, but how real is reality? Many thanks to Simon and all the Tech-Fest team for another outstanding festival. We will be back next year.
