Green Carnation – A Dark Poem, Part III: The Messiah Complex

The band have set themselves a very high bar to maintain. What will they take on next? Whatever it is, I’m sure it won’t be a disappointment. We wait with great expectations.

Gender Reveal Atomic Bomb & Bikini Beach – Down The Hill Festival, Rillaar, Belgium – 22 August 2026

At first listen, Gender Reveal Atomic Bomb and Bikini Beach sounded surprisingly similar. Both bands draw from a raw, direct kind of rock energy, with punk as an important foundation, heavy guitars and very little interest in musical politeness. Yet their...

The Guru Guru – Down The Hill Festival, Rillaar, Belgium – 22 August 2026

Ghost on Mars – Out of Time and Space

Well, what can I say? This is a stunner of a debut album. I can’t help thinking that these guys are perfect for festivals such as Progpower Europe. I would certainly welcome a chance to see them live. What have the Romans ever done for us? Need you ask? It goes without saying that I am looking forward very much to future works from them.

An Evening with Baard Kolstad – Live Streaming

It was just a matter of time for drummer-extraordinaire Baard Kolstad to do a live-stream drum clinic. But not just any: hosted by his longtime friend and fellow drummer, Simen Sandnes, this was more a gathering of friends, present in the studio and online. Talking about his career and style and seasoned with playthroughs of some of his band’s songs as well as special covers.

Leprous – Bilateral & Coal Weekend (Apr. 10 – 11)

Leprous delivered once again an unforgettable weekend by playing their albums Bilateral and Coal in their entirety. The weekends double streaming live from their hometown’s Notodden Theater have been a successful idea, and I was not going to miss my favorite Leprous album played live!
