Marjana Semkina – Sirin

If you want to lower the stress levels and set a good vibe, this album should be among your top choices. “Sirin” sounds like scented candles smell. It’s auditory wholesomeness at its finest.

!GeRald! - Music for broken elevators

!GeRald! – Music for broken elevators

It doesn’t take itself too seriously, but at the same time there isn’t a moment where the silliness overtakes and feels too much. Everything is well balanced, which makes this EP so enjoyable and the perfect “entrée” for the new listeners.

Oubliette – Eternity Whispers

“Eternity Whispers” is a powerful album, showing a lot of flexibility and experimentation to take the groundwork of black metal and rework it for an entirely different emotional payoff.

HavenOfEchoes_MementoVivere

Haven of Echoes – Memento Vivere

I found it difficult to select my favourite tracks on this album because they are all excellent. So, I just picked the two longest ones, because you get more bang for your buck with those! When I reviewed their first album, I scored it 9/10 but this one is getting a 10.

ProgPower Europe interviews: Ihlo

Ihlo from the UK is a band we’re so happy to present at ProgPower Europe as we’ve been following their career taking off through the years. They released their second single in our website back in February 2019, and the following year they did a fantastic appearance at our first Online Festival in 2020 resulting in the release of their “In Stasis” live EP. We’re so happy the ProgPower crew noticed them and invited them to this year maginif lineup. We’re super stoked to finally see the brits live at ProgPower Europe 2023!

VoyagerThroughTime

Voyager – A Voyage Through Time

A voyage in 5 jackets and 7 albums: Voyager managed to capture the immense fun of their live shows for audiences around the world – and leave us craving for more.

Fractal Universe – The Impassable Horizon Alive

In these strange times and longer than expected restrictions, the possibility of safely attending a normal live gig still seems remote. There is light at the end of the tunnel although concerts booked keep getting postponed, some getting pushed back a year....

An Evening with Baard Kolstad – Live Streaming

It was just a matter of time for drummer-extraordinaire Baard Kolstad to do a live-stream drum clinic. But not just any: hosted by his longtime friend and fellow drummer, Simen Sandnes, this was more a gathering of friends, present in the studio and online. Talking about his career and style and seasoned with playthroughs of some of his band’s songs as well as special covers.

Leprous – Bilateral & Coal Weekend (Apr. 10 – 11)

Leprous delivered once again an unforgettable weekend by playing their albums Bilateral and Coal in their entirety. The weekends double streaming live from their hometown’s Notodden Theater have been a successful idea, and I was not going to miss my favorite Leprous album played live!
