The Progspace 10th Anniversary Show

Hooverphonic – Het Groot Verlof, Oude Markt Leuven, July 10, 2026

Some concerts already have a story before the first note is played. Hooverphonic at  Het Groot Verlof  was one of those nights. Earlier that evening, the Oude Markt had watched Belgium’s World Cup quarter-final against Spain together. Belgium lost, and for a moment it...

ANUBIS GATE - Interference cover

Anubis Gate – Interference

While “Interference” is in certain ways new and diverse, and will take several listens to fully grasp and appreciate, it is also very much in line with the Anubis Gate sound established on every single release by the band since their formation in 2003. With this album the listener should be ready to be taken on an emotional musical rollercoaster, and I wouldn’t be surprised if this album topped many a release-of-the-year list.

Ignea – Dreams of Lands Unseen

Well, my list of bands to keep an eye on grows ever longer. This is a valuable addition to any serious metal fan’s collection.

The Nefilim – Zoon (Retrospective)

“Zoon” stands as one of the best gothic metal albums ever, and a very influential album for anyone mixing heavy guitar riffs with a cinematic feel. And while it’s not really “prog”, it played its part as an influence for the more atmospheric bands.

Soen_Atlantis

Soen – Atlantis

“Atlantis”[…]gives insight into everything Soen stands for – both musically and thematically – from a completely fresh angle. One that gives a majestic touch to an already highly perfected sound.

TDK_Nemesta

ТДК/TDK – Nemesta

With “Nemesta” you get to experience a wide range of emotions, even without understanding the lyrics. I can already smell the pretentious suburban middle class /mu/ users claiming it. “So sovietcore”.

BEAT @ Cirque Royal, Brussels – 23 June 2026

BEAT – Not a Museum Piece, but a Living Machine King Crimson has never been one fixed memory for me. I saw the later incarnation with three drummers in Antwerp: an impressive, almost ceremonial machine in which the repertoire unfolded as a broad musical landscape....

Quidam @ Midsummer Prog Festival (20.06.2026) – Maastricht (NL)

Some concerts are experienced with your ears. Others are experienced just as much through your memories. Quidam’s performance at Midsummer Prog undoubtedly belonged to the latter category. My history with the band goes back almost twenty years. Ever since its...

Airbag @ Poppodium 013 Tilburg – May 24, 2026

Airbag – melancholy, atmosphere and controlled intensity at 013 Next Summary In a well-filled 013 Next, Airbag delivered an intensely atmospheric performance built around melancholy, slow-burning tension and musical refinement. Following a strong opening set by...

SPACE Quartet in Tienen – Progressive Spirit, Pure Improvisation

At first glance, SPACE Quartet might not seem like an obvious feature for an international progressive rock platform. A Belgian improvisation collective built around an electric sitar does not fit neatly into the conventional prog canon. Yet that is precisely why...
