Band Spotlight: Soulsplitter – The Progspace 10th Anniversary Show

Germany’s Soulsplitter is the next band on our Spotlight series, presenting the bands for The Progspace 10th Anniversary Show.

Temic – Ceiba

This is a band going from strength to strength and this album will help them stand out in the progressive metal world. If it takes three more years until the next album, so be it, I can wait, because it is bound to be worth it.

Bigmoth – Carbon Error

This is a young band with hopefully a very promising future. Do not be surprised if they crop up at a venue near you or one of the European festivals. I hope this debut release will propel them on to greater success, because they have bags of potential.

Latest

Conjurer – Páthos

Conjurer manages to make an album that captures everything I loved about “Mire” and expands upon it with more melody, more experimentation, and top tier compositions.

Porcupine Tree – Closure/Continuation

This album contains some of the strongest and most convincing material Steven Wilson and co have ever written, but at the same time, they’re not covering any new ground.

Charlie Griffiths – Tiktaalika

Whether any of this material makes it onto the live scene remains to be seen, we can only hope. Failing that, another project from Charlie would be very welcome.
